Character Education Program for Rhea County
Contact person – Sue Brown
The Rhea County School System, in conjunction with the community, developed a Character Education Program. The program mirrored the one developed and implemented for Hamilton County in 1998-99 by Dr. Philip Vincent from the Character Development Group in Chapel Hill, N.C. The program emphasizes one trait each month. The traits are what most people consider universal virtues: respect, responsibility, perseverance, caring, self-discipline, citizenship, honesty, courage, and fairness.
