Graysville Family Engagement Plan
Graysville Elementary School has jointly developed with parents a written family engagement plan and home-school compact in which expectations have been established for parent involvement. This plan is reviewed annually and updated as appropriate to meet the changing needs of the families and the school. Names of individuals involved in the development of this plan are on file in the principal’s office and at central office. A copy of this policy is included in the materials available for review at each Title I Parent Meeting, the annual system-wide meeting and at the two scheduled parent-teacher conferences.
The Graysville Family Engagement Plan shall:
Hold an annual meeting to inform parents of:
1. School’s participation in and requirements for the Title I Program
2. Their rights as parents to be involved in the school
3. The school’s curriculum
4. Academic assessment measures utilized for student achievement (TCAP)
5. Proficient levels assigned to measure student progress (AYP)
Hold a flexible number of meetings for the parent’s convenience such as:
Parent teacher conferences (twice a year after school)
Parent teacher conferences during teacher’s planning time (upon request)
Pre-school orientation (beginning of year in afternoon)
Kindergarten orientation (beginning of year in morning)
PTO meetings (once a month in evening)
Involve parents in an organized, ongoing, and timely way in the planning, review and improvement of programs through:
Phone calls, notes, and personal contact at school
Home visits
PTO meetings
Monthly event calendars
Provide information in a timely manner utilizing:
Report cards
Mid-six weeks progress reports
Newsletters
Web sites with state standards
TCAP scores (sent home yearly)
Provide parents with opportunities to have input regarding their child’s education. Parents are encouraged to make suggestions, and participate in decisions relating to their child’s education.

Comments by families of participating children concerning dissatisfaction with the LEA plan or the school wide program plan are attached to the plan when submitted to the SEA and LEA respectfully. All parent requests are submitted to the school’s Title I planning team. Reasonable support for family involvement activities requested by families is provided by the individual school and the LEA.
Students are expected to score at a proficient level in reading and math on the TACP in order to achieve AYP. The expected proficient percentages are listed below:

This compact was developed jointly with representation from faculty, staff, and parents. Graysville Elementary School will hold an annual meeting with faculty, staff, and parents to review and revise this parent-school compact as needed.
