Do you
want to know how you can help your child?
- Look
over your child's homework every night. Help them correct
any errors and reexplain the problem areas. Sign their
homework to let me know you have seen their work.
- Every
Thursday night, go through your child's returned work,
review the subjects that will be on the following day's
tests.
- Review
the rest of the papers on the weekend. Ask questions and
judge if the child really understands the concepts
presented.
- Read
with your child. Ask questions about the story.
- Study
multiplication tables with your child nightly. This can
be done quickly. (Come up with creative times to quiz
your child, ie; cooking dinner, trips to Walmart, etc.)
- Review
the vocabulary words and their meanings before the night
of the test. A large vocabulary is the largest indicator
of a good reader!
