Reading and Phonics: We have finished all of our letters and sight words for the year!!!!!!! Your child should know all of the letters and the sounds at this point. Some of the children are struggling with some of the sight words. I will send a note home very soon that will tell you the words your child is having trouble with. Please work with him/her at home because these are words that he/she should know for first grade. We are going to be reviewing for the last couple of weeks of school. It is important that your child is here every day because I am trying to get them ready for first grade.

Math: We will be reviewing the skills that we have learned this year in math. I am having the children practice adding and subtracting regularly because some are still having some trouble, and those that aren’t will benefit from the practice also.

This year is coming to a close very fast and I have certainly enjoyed having your child. We have had a great year, and I feel like all of the children have made progress. I am very proud of each child and you should be also.
