Kindergarten Progress Report
These are just the very basic skills that are required.
| First
Six Weeks Skills: The first six weeks is a readiness and adjustment period. Mastery of skills is not checked until the second six weeks. Students should have mastered these skills: Knows Personal Data: first and last name (students should also know middle name), home address, telephone number, and birthdate, (also knows their age and parents's names), holds crayon and pencil correctly (using only 3 fingers), completes a simple puzzle (I also expect them to learn to tie, zip, snap, and button) |
| Second
Six Weeks Skills: Students are graded with "E" for Excellent, "S" for Satisfactory, "N' for Needs Improvement, or "U" for Unsatisfactory on the Six Weeks skills, Academic Subject Areas, Social Progress, and Work Skills. These areas are checked each six weeks. Academic subject areas: Language and Pre-Reading, Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Art, Music, Computer, Physical Education, Conduct. Social Progress Areas: Observes classroom rules, Cooperates with others, Listens attentively Work Skills: Follows directions, Begins work promptly, Stays on task, Completes task in time allotted, Takes care of materials, Does work neatly, Works quietly when appropriate, Cleans up work area, Able to work independently. Letters introduced and letters mastered are marked. Skills to be mastered are: Identifies Shapes: Circle, Square, Triangle, Rectangle, (students should also know heart, star, oval, and diamond) Rote Counts to 10 Recite the alphabet (Not sung or chanted) Names colors: Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Purple, Orange, Black, Brown (should also know white, pink, and grey) Recognizes name in print Prints First Name in lower case Identifies sets from 0 to 10 Identifies numerals from 0 to 10 Counts concrete objects 0-10 Identifies comparative concepts- Size and Shapes: more, less, same, small, smaller, smallest, large, larger, largest, etc Shows one-to-one correspondence Recognizes likenesses and differences Uses scissors well Recognizes rhyming words Works from left to right |

Six Weeks Skills: Letters introduced and letters mastered are marked. Skills to be mastered are: Recognizes position of objects (top to bottom, middle, outside, over, under, etc) Completes a pattern Expresses the main idea Listens to predict Recognizes numeral 11-20 Matches quantities up to 20 with numerals Sequencing Identifies ordinals (1st to 10th) Writes last name |
| Fourth
Six Weeks Skills: Letters introduced and letters mastered are marked. Skills to be mastered are: Addition (sums to 10) Subtraction (differences to 10) Identifies fractions (whole and half) Writes numbers to 20 Relates numbers to 20 using more than, less than, and equal to Understands representation of data in charts and graphs |
| Fifth
Six Weeks Skills: Letters introduced and letters mastered are marked. Skills to be mastered are: Identify money (penny, nickel, dime, quarter) and their value Recognizes time to the hour and half hour Prints letters of the alphabet (upper and lower case) Matches upper and lower case letters Estimate and measure length |

Six weeks Skills: Letters introduced and letters mastered are marked. Skills to be mastered are: Recognizes numbers to 100 Counts to 100 by 10's Counts to 100 by 5's Recognizes reading words Sounds out words Reognizes number words 1-10 Recognizes 8 primary color words |
