Dive into Language Arts with Mrs. McNair

at Rhea Central Elementary

All About Me

I have been teaching Language Arts for nine years at Rhea Central. In addition to my teaching certification, I have a degree in journalism. I am married to Ed McNair, who is an electrical engineer. I have two children. My daughter, Tami, is a hairstylist in Chattanooga and has one daughter, Leeah. My son, Will, is a Senior Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy and serves on a fast-attack submarine. He and his wife, Anissa, have three children; Brendan, Jaramia, and Sienna.

My hobbies are reading, gardening, and scruba diving. When it's too cold to plant trees and flowers, I read every chance I get. As far my diving hobby, I have been diving in Aruba, the Florida Keys, and in the Caymen Islands. I have also frozen while diving in a quarry in Athens, Tennessee. (You only do this when you are really wanting to dive and don't have the time to travel to warmer places.) I used to be a volunteer diver in the Tennessee Aquarium, feeding fish and cleaning the glass walls in the tanks. My schedule got a little crowded and I had to give this up. My husband still feeds occasionally, but since they have added the big sharks, he doesn't enjoy it as much as he used to.
