| We are reading every day in the classroom. I am very pleased that the students are doing their daily homework of reading. In the event that your student has forgotten to bring his/her reading book home, just have them read something from home. Reading daily is imperative (for 15 to 20 minutes daily). On Thursday, the students get to bring home the worksheets we have finished on the phonics skills practice. | Vocabulary words are given each week. We are
also working on word family review words. These are a
review from the previous grade. Skills being used in the
classroom are being reviewed and reinforced in my class. We are working on skills for the Think Link and Basal Reading tests. |
Weekly tests are given on Fridays. These include the vocabulary words and comprehension questions. |
