Main
and Helping Verbs
A Verb is
the main word in the predicate of a sentence.
A verb
that has more than one word is called a verb
phrase. A verb phrase is made up of a main verb
and one or more helping verbs. The main verb is
the action verb that shows an action. The helping
verb or verbs tell more about the action. Some
common helping verbs are also linking verbs.

Helping Verbs: am, is, are, was, were, will,
would, should, may, might, could, shall, be, has,
have, had, do, does, did, can, and could.
