Monday: Vocabulary Words p. 188: record definitions into your notes. Read "The Storyteller" p.189-193.

Tuesday: "The Storyteller" discussion. Must have HW today in order to discuss story!
Writing assignment: Descriptive writing, "Imagine a Park" p. 195. Begin in class.
HW:FINAL DUE TOMORROW in MANUSCRIPT FORM.
Wednesday: "Imagine a Park" Descriptive writing is due today. As each student reads his or her descriptive park, another student will draw it with as much detail as the reader gives! Preview Vocabulary words p. 197.
Thursday: Vocabulary words p. 197 REVIEW (Quiz Tomorrow)
We started Jack London's "Call of the Wild" movie today. He is one of the best descriptive writers of all time!
Friday: Quiz! over Vocabulary words p. 197
"Call of the Wild" movie: 10 descriptive sentences on handout using your vocabulary words. You will create these as you watch the movie!! DUE today!!
November 17-21
Monday: Quickwrite p. 197, 'a difficult choice': Respond and record in your notes. Begin reading "The Cold Equations" in class. #1-10 boxed questions throughout the story. You must write the question and respond in complete sentences.
HW: Finish reading the story. 1-10 is due tomorrow and QUIZ over story tomorrow. Be prepared for class discussion of story!
Tuesday: QUIZ over "The Cold Equations". Check HW 1-10. Discuss story.
HW assignment due Friday: "Changing the Ending" See handout for details!!
Wednesday: "The Cold Equations" study guide. Pair up and complete in class. Review answers near the end of the period. TEST tomorrow STUDY!!
Thursday: TEST over "The Cold Equations" story and vocabulary words. After test, you may work on your "Changing the ending" writing assignment that is due tomorrow!
Friday: "Changing the Ending" writing assignment due. 2 pages neatly written, manuscript form. We will be sharing these in class today for extra credit!!
