Activities

1. Read, comprehend, and take notes for the entire epic.
2. Take various quizzes to check comprehension.
3. Write a press release for Grendel that will give him the opportunity
to present the events of this epic poem from his point of view. Prepare a statement
that Grendel might read at a press conference to inform the public of his side of the
story.
4. Take a unit test over the poem.
5. Conduct research to find out more information about other epics, epic heroes, vikings, Scandinavia, or Anglo-Saxon culture. Write a 2 page report on the topic you researched
which includes a bibliography.
6. Compile a glossary of words which can be found on the vocabulary page of this site.
