Reading Activities for Grades 2nd-5th
Academy of Reading is a comprehensive, interactive, multimedia reading program designed to enhance literacy skills in students.This program has a pretest and post test for the student. A Reading Placement Test is given for their grade level. Students will have an Individual Training Program (ITP) that is designed for their needs. The student's ITP has exercises in specific skill areas. Training progress is monitored, and automatic interventions are made if necessary to help the students succeed more quickly when they encounter problems. The student's ITP are adjusted depending on their rate of progress. Class reports of student's progress have these areas: skills mastered, time in program, time on skill, % of program completed, and average time on skill per week. The student will train in the following areas:
-Phonemic Awareness- This is the ability to identify and manipulate the component sounds (or phonemes) of language.
-Phonics and Decoding- This gives the student practice in hearing and manipulating the phonemes of the language. It helps students develop the visual, auditory-visual, and oral skills required for reading proficiency.
-Comprehension-This section helps students to develop their vocabulary and the ability to identify the main idea.
Alpha Betty
Reading Activities for Grades K-1st
Alphea Betty is a language arts program for reading/math readiness. It teaches the following areas with three levels of difficulty:
-ABC's-Upper and lower case letters
-Patterns and Shapes
-Counting to 20 and counting to 100 by 1's, 5's, and 10's
-Counting to 300 using higher levels of difficulty
-Less than and Greater than
-Using Even Numbers
-Addition and Subtraction

Reading Activities For Grades 3rd-6th
Corner Stone is a language program that has three levels of difficulty for the students. The program has a pretest and posttest for each skill area. The following areas are taught for the students:
-Capitalization
-Pronoun -"I", Names, Initials, and Titles
-First words in a sentence and Quotations
-Greetings and Closings in Letters
-Cities and Other Place Names
-Days, Months, and Holidays
-Books, Magazines, and Other Printed Material
