**Teacher Note*

Extra Credit Opportunities:

1. Box tops for education are taken for extra credit. They count as 1 pt. each. limit 100 per six weeks.

2. Vocabulary word and correct definition for missed words can be written 5 times each and turned in for 10 points extra credit on vocabulary quizzes.

3. On map quizzes, country capitals can be added for 2 extra credit points for each country. Sometimes bonus questions are asked for extra credit also.

4. A report can be written on the country we are currently studying for 20 pts. extra credit. It must be in your own words, NOT copied straight from the source. It must included the following information to obtain the total points: name of country, capital city, population, language, major religion, type of government, economy, and something about their customs or traditions and history. It must be 2 pages typed or 3 handwritten. Fonts may not be above 14.

 

 

 

 

SCHOOL NEWS

Sign up children under 5 years old for the Books from Birth program. Every child can receive a free book every month from birth to five years old. See Mrs. Roberts for more information. It doesn't matter how much money a family makes,everyone is eligible. You can register online at

 

The Talented and Gifted Field Trip is scheduled for December 15th.  We are going to the Pinnacle Theater at Turkey Creek in Knoxville to watch “A Christmas Carol”.  Permission forms will be going home on November 10th.  Please make checks payable to SCMS.  Turn money and permission forms into Mrs. Roberts before November 24th.

 

Thursday evening November 19th all parents are invited to come to their child’s school and learn how to use the new grade system.  This allows you to be able to look at your child’s grades at anytime of the day or night from home.  There is two sessions, one at 3:30 and one at 4:30.  Hope to see you there.
